What We Do:
Depending on the case, we may offer legal education, counsel and advice, representation at hearings, or help with negotiations to help our clients solve their housing issues.
Through the Housing Hotline, the Housing team provides legal advice over the phone, to applicants who qualify for services, regarding various tenant and landlord issues. Applicants may call our hotline at (888) 245-4257.
The Housing team helps clients access the legal system through Unlawful Detainer Clinics, held both virtually and at several of our branch offices (with advanced appointments). At the UD Clinic, an attorney evaluates the participant’s legal issues, assists with preparing legal documents, and gives detailed information regarding the legal process related to their legal problems.
The Housing team also provides Unlawful Detainer representation in many court locations through our Tenant/Landlord Assistance Program (TLAP). At TLAP, an attorney and paralegal are present to assist parties who have a scheduled UD trial. The attorney will review the legal issues and can assist with negotiations or trial representation. Interested parties are recommended to show up early to their trial date for assistance. For locations see below.
