A Message from Our Executive Director

ICLS Executive Director, Tessie Solorzano, Esq.

To our friends and supporters,

It’s been another incredible year of service here at ICLS alongside all of you. Our staff has helped our neighbors through difficult times, our donors have supported us more than ever before, and our organization has expanded our staff and launched new services.

As we reflect on 2024 and prepare for the changes that will come next year, we feel grounded and steadfast in our commitment to justice.

Protecting the civil legal rights of our clients — helping them access and maintain housing and health care, empowering them to live authentically and free from abuse, and defending those who couldn’t otherwise afford it — will be as essential as ever as we enter 2025. While some communities may feel uncertain about what will happen under the new federal administration, ICLS remains committed to serving those in need and helping people participate fairly in the civil legal justice system.

For many in our communities, this year has not been easy. Prices remain high, and residents struggle with housing, financial stability, health care costs, and more. While some may not realize it, many of these struggles can snowball into civil legal issues that need to be addressed, like evictions or consumer debt lawsuits. Through free, high quality legal services, our advocates at ICLS help stabilize lives and empower our communities to stay vibrant.

Understanding that impact, we enter this new year as passionate as ever about increasing access to justice. But we know we can’t do it alone. With you all by our side, we will continue to fight for our neighbors in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

In solidarity,

Tessie Solorzano
