COVID-19 Rental Relief Applications to Close on March 31, 2022

When COVID-19 hit and caused immense financial disruptions, the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) was implemented in California to help both tenants and landlords alike live the same quality of life.

The state’s program has been a comfort to many in our community, but it will soon be coming to an end. The last day to apply is March 31st, 2022, so get your applications in as soon as possible! Local programs may continue to accept applications beyond this date.

The Rental Relief program will help with unpaid rent, upcoming rent, and utility assistance. You can apply as a landlord or a tenant, depending on the need. For more information on the eligibility and paperwork requirements, refer to the following website: CA COVID-19 Rent Relief – Housing Is Key.

If you have any questions about the application process or the ERAP program, you can sign up for ICLS’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program Clinic through our Intake team. The ERAP Clinic is held every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and is first come, first serve. This clinic features volunteer attorneys and law students ready to assist you with application paperwork, specifics of the process, and any other questions you may have. Our volunteers can also equip you with information on alternative rent relief resources after the ERAP application closes.

For any additional questions about our clinic, please email Paulette Gray, our Pro Bono Coordinator, at pgray@icls.org
