This week, ICLS hosted a 2026 Law Clerk Summit to mark the end of our 10-week summer program for law students and to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.
Over the course of the program, the law clerks gained hands-on experience in the civil legal field, assisting clients, attending court hearings, participating in mock trials, practicing trauma-informed lawyering, and more. The law clerks were embedded across ICLS practice groups and had the opportunity to learn about legal issues related to immigration, housing, small business, public benefits, consumer, health, and more.
ICLS emphasizes collaboration and mentorship through our law clerk programming, so the students also had the opportunity to shadow different programs and clinics to explore different areas of the law. Not only do we give students practical tools they can use in law school and beyond, but we also emphasize the impact of public interest law and the difference attorneys can make in the lives of their clients.
Hand-in-hand with our legal professionals, our law clerks helped clients file responses, go through intakes, and resolve critical civil legal issues impacting their quality of life.
