Lawyer in the Library

Lawyer in the Library is a national program that provides free legal consultations to library patrons. ICLS participates in Lawyer in the Library through a partnership with the Riverside County Public Library System.

What We Do:

During Lawyer in the Library sessions, an ICLS attorney will be present to answer questions and provide guidance to residents dealing with civil legal problems.

ICLS advocates can help address the following issues:

  • Special education access
  • Debt collection lawsuits
  • Housing cases: evictions, illegal rent increases and habitable housing
  • Family Law and Domestic Violence
  • Immigration assistance for victims of crimes
  • Health care billing issues and medical debt
  • Elder Law issues
  • Public Benefits

ICLS does not handle criminal cases, though we do offer expungement assistance for eligible residents.
